Brian Walsh

Scientific Advisor

Brian Walsh, Ph.D., joined Parker Highlander after managing the intellectual property for Rubicon Genomics and later Takara Bio USA in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to that, Brian earned his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Michigan. Brian’s graduate work focused on DNA replication and repair, characterizing the replication and repair machinery of the bacterium Bacillus subtilis. Prior to his graduate work, Brian worked as a technician at Asterand Bioscience in Detroit and in bioprocess development at Pfizer, and earned his B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Michigan State University. Brian’s expertise includes drafting and prosecution of patents related to various areas of biotechnology including genomics and next generation sequencing technologies, stem cell biology, cancer therapeutics, and biologics.
